I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence
cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD,
which made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1-2
A Pittsburgh managing editor sent a cub reporter to
cover a mine disaster near Cokeville, some distance
from Pittsburgh. The young man arrived at the scene,
dallied around until late at night and started to wire his
story in as follows: “Cokeville, Pa., No. 300—God sits
tonight on the hills around Cokeville—” “Stop him,”
said the night editor, handing over the story. “Send him
this message: “Never mind disaster. Interview God.
Get pictures.”
This is a funny story. However, the bible does say that
God sits on the hills. The scripture says, “I will lift up
mine eyes unto the hills whence cometh my help. My
help cometh from the Lord.”
Our dream is that the new legacy for the Holiday Hills
Baptist Church is that we will be “The Hills” that
people look to for finding the Lord’s help. We pray that
people will come to Holiday Hills to get a picture of
God. We dream that we can be the church where pre-
Christians can find the Lord. We’ve envision that we
can be the church where Christians who backslide are
regenerated and recommitted to the Lord. I dream that
we will be a church where Christians are molded into
the image of Jesus Christ.
We pray that we will be a place where emotional and
mental healing can take place. We envision that we will
be a place where addictions to alcohol, drugs,
smoking, pornography, and gambling will be broken. We
dream that we can be a place where generational
curses are broken from marriages and families. We pray
we can be a place where marriages are healed. We
dream that “The Hills” will be a place where the people
of God experience God.
We dream that this will be a place where God will rear up
men and women of God. We envision that this will be a
place where God is calling His people to vocations
such as pastors, missionaries, doctors, lawyers,
educators, authors, politicians, professional athletes,
actors, and dancers for the kingdom of God. We dream
that this church will be a blessing to Abilene, Texas,
the United States and International venues as well. Our
dream is that the peoples of the world will look to “The
Hills.” Holiday Hills is a spiritual church in the city on a
hill. Let’s begin to build this city on the foundation of
the “The Hills!”

2007 is a new year! We pray that we are becoming a
new people in the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray for a new
spirit of enthusiasm and a new vision. God is up to
something great! We will praise him right now for what
He is about to do in 2007!
